Comfort Systems USA shares surged Friday to a new record high even as the company posted financial results for Q4, with weaker-than-expected earnings and revenues. The provider of mechanical contracting services reported late Thursday said that adjusted earnings for the quarter was $0.45 per share, compared with the prior-year period’s $0.35 per share. Analysts polled by Capital IQ were expecting EPS of $0.47.
Revenue was $392.1 million, up from $383.8 million in the same quarter last year. The Street view was for revenue of $413 million.
The company also said its board of directors will distribute a quarterly dividend of $0.07 per share on its common stock, payable on March 21, 2017 to stockholders of record at the close of business on March 10, 2017. This is maintained from the prior quarter’s dividend paid to shareholders on Nov. 23, 2016. FIX was up almost 16% recently with a new 52-week range of $26.05 to $38.65.
